Sandwich tiiiime is heeeeeeere. Happineeesssss and cheeeeeer.
If you read that to the tune of the great Vince Guaraldi hit, “Christmas Time Is Here“, I applaud thee.
But honestly, I get quite giddy over sandwich time. We all know this. So let’s carry on to the recipe which features a lovely combination of turkey breast, brie, and crisp delicious apples.
Stick that in your panini press and
smoke grill it.
3-4 slices honey-roasted turkey breast
2-3 slices brie or camembert cheese
1 braeburn apple, thinly sliced
2 slices soft white bread
2 Tbsps. stone ground mustard
Preheat oven to 400˚F. While oven is heating, spread 1 Tbsp. mustard on each slice of bread. Then, on one slice of bread, layer turkey; top other slice of bread with apples and brie. Place sandwich slices on a baking sheet in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until brie starts to get gooey and melty. Remove from oven, assemble sandwich. Once cooled, cut and serve.
Alternative method: Place in a heated panini press.
